Goals Assists MoM Kayden 🎃 HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🎃
Cropredy had the pleasure of hosting Bilston FC in their third cup game.
The weather was cold to start with, but thankfully the sun came out just in time for kick-off and the match got underway.
Cropredy started slowly and struggled to get going. Both teams were playing too many long balls, looking for a breakthrough, but the wet surface made things difficult, with the ball regularly running out of play.
As the first half went on, Bilston created more chances and Cropredy started to panic a little at the back when trying to clear their lines.
Cropredy did create one really good opportunity when they played through the thirds, opening up the opposition and getting in behind, but unfortunately the shot went just wide. It was probably the best move of the first half.
Cropredy continued to push forward but switched off for a split second. An opposition player won the ball and attempted a shot, which he completely miskicked. Unfortunately, the ball fell perfectly for his teammate, who turned and smashed it past the keeper to give Bilston the lead.
HALF-TIME: CROPREDY 0-1 BILSTON
The second half was a much better performance from Cropredy. They came out with more urgency, better passing and a much higher work rate.
Cropredy could have been level early on, but the Bilston keeper pulled off a good save.
As the half went on, Cropredy started to take control, creating better opportunities, but it was the final decision-making that let them down, with chances going begging.
Another great passage of football saw Cropredy once again play through the thirds and create a fantastic opportunity to equalise, but the keeper was there again to make another good save.
Cropredy kept battling and were firmly in control, but unfortunately just couldn’t find that clinical finish in front of goal.
In the end, the one goal proved to be the difference, with Cropredy coming away disappointed at full-time.
⚽ FULL-TIME: CROPREDY 0-1 BILSTON
🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH: KAYDEN
A well-deserved award for Kayden, who came on and worked extremely hard. He tracked back, got his tackles in and played some really good passes.
But above all, it was his work rate that stood out today.
Well done, Kayden. Keep it up! 👏
📝 MY REVIEW
The first half wasn’t good enough from us. We started slowly, kept resorting to the long ball and, if we’re being honest, deserved to be behind at half-time.
The second half was a completely different performance. The passing improved, the work rate was much better and we started creating chances.
On the balance of the second half, we deserved at least an equaliser, but unfortunately it was too little, too late.
A disappointing result, but plenty to take away from the second-half performance.
Keep working hard, lads. We go again! 💪⚽

Goals Assists MoM Fabian Cropredy travelled to Walsall on a wet Saturday morning to face Rushell Olympic.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t just the weather that was poor, but also the facilities. The pitch had a drainage dip running across its full width, there were no corner flags, and the grass looked like it hadn’t been cut for months. It certainly wasn’t the best surface for the football we like to play!
Rushell kicked off and started brightly, pressing well and nearly taking an early lead. Cropredy struggled with the conditions and seemed to panic whenever the ball came near our goal.
Rushell created several chances but were unable to take advantage, while Fabian made some good saves to keep Cropredy in the game. Cropredy tried to play football, but the difficult pitch made things challenging.
With 10 minutes left in the first half, Cropredy started creating chances of their own. Ayo drove towards goal and got his shot away, forcing the goalkeeper into a save. However, the keeper could only palm the ball into Arlo’s path, and Arlo made no mistake, smashing the ball past him to give Cropredy the lead!
Rushell continued to create opportunities, but Cropredy defended well and managed to see out the first half with their advantage intact.
The second half started much like the first, with Rushell coming out on the attack. Cropredy struggled to keep possession, giving the ball away too easily and finding it difficult to get our passing game going.
Within five minutes of the restart, Rushell found their equaliser. Things got worse just four minutes later when Cropredy failed to win their tackles or pick up their players. Rushell took advantage of some good passing, and Cropredy suddenly found themselves 2-1 behind.
However, this seemed to wake the players up. Cropredy suddenly came to life, started taking control of the game and created more chances than they had in the first half.
Eventually, Cropredy found their equaliser, giving the players belief again. The passing improved, the tackles started going our way, and Cropredy began to look much more like themselves.
Cropredy created chance after chance and, with the number of opportunities we had, could easily have won the game. Unfortunately, too many of our shots were straight at the goalkeeper, and we couldn’t find that winning goal.
With the match ending level, it went to a penalty shootout. Sadly, the penalties didn’t go our way, and Cropredy suffered defeat in the shootout.
Man of the Match: Fabian 🏆
Fabian made some excellent saves throughout the match and his distribution was also very good. Well deserved!
Match Review
To be fair to the players, the pitch wasn’t great and the weather certainly didn’t help. We struggled to play our usual game, but I thought the players adapted well to the conditions and showed great character to fight their way back into the match.
With the number of chances we created towards the end, we could and probably should have won the game. However, the players worked hard, kept going and showed a great attitude.
Despite the disappointment of losing on penalties, our five-game unbeaten run in the MJPL continues! 👏🏻⚽
Well done, everyone. Keep working hard, keep believing in yourselves and keep pushing forward. We look forward to next week’s challenge! 👏🏻⚽

Goals Assists MoM Remi Cropredy hosted Rushell Village in the first game of the cup competition. It was a sunny but fresh morning as both teams got ready for kick-off.
It certainly wasn’t the start Cropredy were looking for, as Rushell settled quickly and put us under pressure in the opening seconds. To the players’ credit, they responded brilliantly, with Arlo quickly getting involved and helping us find our feet.
Cropredy started the first half looking a little slow and sluggish, and it was the long ball into the box that caused us a few problems early on.
Cropredy kept trying to get their football going. A great run down the wing from Kayden, who carried the ball forward strongly before picking out Arlo with a lovely pass, showed the kind of play we’re capable of. Arlo kept his composure superbly throughout.
The second half started much better, with Cropredy immediately putting the opposition under pressure and attacking with real purpose.
As the half progressed, you could see Cropredy growing in confidence and beginning to take control of the game. Remi was superb, using his strength to turn his man and drive us forward time and again.
There was some lovely team football on show. One move really stood out: Alan played the ball into Remi, who turned and found Arlo. Arlo drove down the wing before delivering a great cross to Ayo, who had timed his run perfectly. A fantastic bit of team play! 👏🏻
Remi capped a brilliant individual display, picking up the ball and powering his way through three players with real determination.
⭐ Man of the Match: Remi
Remi was outstanding today, using his strength to hold off opposition players and linking up play with some excellent passing. His closing down and work rate were also superb. A well-deserved Man of the Match!
Well done, Remi! 👏🏻👏🏻
Match Review
We started the game too slowly and looked half asleep at times, which is something we need to address. We were also too slow tracking back, and we need to learn how to deal with teams that use the long ball to cause problems.
On the positive side, we passed the ball well, never gave up and continued to push forward whenever we had the opportunity. The players showed great character and real maturity in the way they grew into the game during the second half.
Overall, it was a good game of football, and Cropredy gradually got to grips with it and produced a performance to be really proud of.
Well done to all the players! Keep working hard, keep believing in yourselves and let’s keep developing and enjoying our football! 👏🏻👏🏻

Goals Assists MoM Kayden Cropredy FC Match Report ⚽👏🏻
Cropredy travelled to Birmingham this morning to take on CP Cobras on a cold, sunny and windy morning.
Both teams were ready to go as the referee blew the whistle to get the game underway.
Cropredy started well, but after the first five minutes, things began to look a little sloppy. Cobras started to take control of the game, pressing forward, winning their tackles and creating chances.
Cropredy began to lose their shape a little and struggled to win the individual battles in midfield. As the first half progressed, Cobras had the better of the early chances.
However, Cropredy didn’t give up and responded brilliantly. Casper launched a long throw forward, which Riley controlled superbly before showing great composure under pressure.
This was the moment Cropredy needed to press the reset button and get themselves organised. Cobras kept pushing and had another good spell, but Cropredy responded again. They pushed forward and won a free kick, with Ares stepping up to take responsibility. He absolutely smashed it — what a hit! 👏🏻⚽
Cropredy tried to get their passing game going, but things just weren’t coming off, and a mistake at the back then gave Cobras a clear opening.
That was how the first half finished, with Cropredy heading into the break knowing they had work to do.
After a good team talk, the players knew exactly what was needed.
Straight from kick-off, Cropredy looked like a completely different team!
They started winning their tackles, competing for every ball and moving it around with much more confidence. The passing improved, and Cropredy began to take control of the game.
Within ten minutes, the hard work paid off as Arlo cut inside and finished a lovely move with real composure.
Now Cropredy were playing with confidence and aggression. They looked much stronger going forward, moving the ball well and creating some excellent attacking moments.
More good play soon followed. Alek controlled the ball brilliantly, turned and got his shot away with real quality.
Cropredy were now managing the game much better. With Cobras committing more players forward, they began to leave gaps at the back, and Cropredy took full advantage. Henry won the ball and played an excellent through ball into Ares’ path. Ares controlled it, turned his defender and drove forward, staying calm when it mattered. ⚽🔥
Not long afterwards, the referee blew the final whistle on a fantastic team performance from Cropredy FC!
🏆 Man of the Match: Kayden
Kayden worked tirelessly in the first half, trying to create chances while his teammates struggled to get into the game. In the second half, he continued to cause problems down the right-hand side and worked extremely hard for the team.
A well-deserved Man of the Match! 👏🏻
📝 Match Review
This was definitely a game of two halves!
In the first half, we struggled to get going, lost a few too many individual battles and allowed Cobras to take control of the game. We need to make sure we start sharper and are ready to compete from the very first whistle.
The second half, however, was a different story. The players showed great character, improved their passing, won their tackles and took control of the match. We looked much stronger going forward and grew into the game superbly.
The way the players responded in the second half, away from home, was a real credit to them and showed what this team is capable of when we work hard, believe in ourselves and play with confidence.
There are still things we need to improve, but the response after half-time was excellent.
Keep believing, keep working hard and keep improving!
UP THE CROP! 👏🏻👏🏻⚽

Goals Assists MoM Alan Hi All,
Once again, thank you to everyone for their help today. If I do say so myself, it was another successful morning for Cropredy FC.
Cropredy FC welcomed Sparta FC for this Saturday’s match. After a strong performance against Tamworth, it was going to be interesting to see if the players could carry that form into today’s game.
From the moment the game kicked off, you could see within the first five minutes that Cropredy were up for it.
Cropredy dominated the first half, creating chance after chance. All that pressure showed in the way we kept getting in behind and testing the Sparta keeper.
Cropredy continued to press, winning their individual battles and putting Sparta under constant pressure. Sparta struggled to get out of their own half as Cropredy moved the ball around well and kept forcing the opposition further and further back.
Cropredy kept that pressure up right through to half-time, with the players full of confidence and energy.
Cropredy started the second half exactly as they had finished the first — closing the opposition down quickly and creating chances.
Again, Cropredy dominated and never really gave Sparta a chance to breathe. We created plenty more opportunities, but once again our finishing let us down.
Eventually the final whistle went, rounding off another fantastic team performance.
MOM: Alan
Alan was solid at the back today. He won all his tackles, passed the ball with confidence and brought the ball out from the back really well when needed. A very strong performance.
Review:
This was the best football I have seen from the team so far this season. The passing, movement and determination to win the ball back quickly were brilliant.
The communication between the players was also fantastic to hear. They were talking to each other, telling each other who to mark and helping each other throughout the game.
For me, this was one of the biggest positives from today. The players are starting to give each other information, encourage one another and push each other on.
Every single player did their part today and showed what a good TEAM they are starting to become.
Well done, boys. Keep believing, keep working hard and keep playing for each other.
Up the Crop! 💙⚽

Goals N/A Assists N/A MoM Riley Cropredy FC v Tamworth FC
What can I say!
We started the game extremely well — winning tackles, communicating brilliantly at the back and keeping the opposition away from our goal. Whether it was stopping them in midfield or making decisive tackles in defence, we looked strong and organised.
After about ten minutes, I was really happy with how we were playing. Tamworth had a couple of good moves down the wing, but our heads didn’t drop.
We continued to play our football and were aggressive in the tackle, which gave us the time and space to play when we won the ball back. Our decision-making — from the goalkeeper, through the defence and midfield, and all the way up front — was excellent today.
In the first half, we managed to get the ball up to Riley, who gave their defence a really difficult time, either holding the ball up or making runs in behind. It paid off with a lovely move — Henry played a great through ball to Riley, who cut across the defender and showed brilliant composure.
We went into half-time growing in belief and very much on the up, with everything still to play for.
Second Half
Remi and Arlo came on for the second half and immediately settled into the pace of the game, giving the Tamworth defenders a torrid time. They identified who they were up against and were relentless with their tackling and determination to win the ball back.
It wasn’t long before more good work paid off, with Kayden right in the thick of a great attacking moment.
We were creating chances and, if it hadn’t been for a couple of misplaced final passes, we’d have had even more to show for it.
Solid at the back wins games!
We knew we needed a big defensive performance — and we got one. It wasn’t just our defenders either. Our wingers worked incredibly hard, didn’t dive into tackles and stayed with their attackers, helping to nullify Tamworth’s threat.
Then, with around ten minutes to go, another superb team move. Alex picked the ball up in midfield and played it through to Jace. There were a few scrambled moments as the Tamworth defenders threw themselves in front of the ball, but Jace kept his composure beautifully.
For the final ten minutes, we were commanding at the back and did everything we could to stay on top. Tamworth had their chances, but we stood strong and they couldn’t find a way through.
At the end of the game, I was incredibly proud of every single player who played today — not only for the performance, but also for the way they represented Cropredy FC.
Further Reflections
Tamworth are a very good team and, to their credit, they never gave up. Their manager was very complimentary about our performance. That shows what this group is capable of when everyone works hard, communicates and plays for each other.
Last Words
It was a great day at Cropredy. It was brilliant to see the whole place busy, with tennis and cricket lessons taking place at the same time — we even had a band wanting to play!
Boys, you are a credit to the club. Keep up the good work, keep training hard and keep representing Cropredy FC with pride!

Goals N/A Assists N/A MoM N/A This is going to be one of the hardest match reports to write, but here goes.
Cropredy travelled back to Sutton today to play Sutton Utd Lions. We knew it was going to be a tough game, as we had heard from other coaches about the Lions and how good a team they were.
Unfortunately, Cropredy struggled from the start. We started slowly and, within five minutes, found ourselves on the back foot.
Cropredy tried to get the ball forward, but we were closed down very quickly and lost possession too easily. We made too many mistakes with our passing and ball control, while our communication between players was poor. Our movement off the ball was also not good enough, which made it difficult for us to create space and build attacks.
There was one really good passage of play in the first half when we moved the ball quickly with some excellent passing. It nearly opened them up, but unfortunately nothing came from it.
Today was a harsh lesson in how to play football at this level. At times, it felt like we were a Division 3 team taking on a Premier League team. The Lions were more physical than us, their passing was better, and their movement off the ball was much better. This made it easier for them to find their teammates and keep possession.
One thing that really stood out was that they didn’t constantly try to take our players on. They often took two or three touches before making the pass, moving the ball quickly and effectively.
But there is one very important positive to take from today.
The Cropredy players never gave up.
They kept going right until the end, they never argued with each other, and they continued to try even when things weren’t going their way. That attitude is a sign of a good team, and it will help them enormously as the season goes on.
Today was a tough day, and there is no hiding from that. But football is about learning, improving and bouncing back.
We pick ourselves up, learn from today, work even harder in training and come back stronger. 💪⚽
Keep going, lads. 👍🏻

Goals N/A Assists N/A MoM N/A Today, Cropredy FC travelled to Sutton United Jaguars for our first competitive MJPL match.
It was around a 1 hour 10 minute journey, but the facilities were good and the players were looking forward to getting their first competitive game underway.
The pitch was quite small, which suited the opposition’s style of closing down, and Cropredy struggled to get a real hold of the ball during the first half. The players looked nervous, with mistakes happening all over the pitch.
There were, however, some really good moments. When Cropredy moved the ball quickly, we created a couple of good chances, but unfortunately we couldn’t take them.
Sutton closed us down very well and created a number of chances, although their finishing was slightly off. Cropredy worked extremely hard and looked like they would reach the break still very much in the game. Unfortunately, a lapse in concentration in midfield allowed Sutton to get through just before half-time.
The second half was much better from Cropredy. We started to compete more and showed a lot more determination, but we still held onto the ball for too long at times and got caught in possession.
Sutton then broke down the wing, battled their way through and got a dangerous cross into the box.
To the players’ credit, they never gave up. We had good opportunities of our own, but once again we took too long to get our shots away.
⭐ Overall
It was a good, physical game and a valuable introduction to competitive MJPL football. There are plenty of things for the players to learn from.
We need to:
- Battle harder in certain situations.
- Make quicker decisions.
- Move the ball quicker.
- Avoid getting caught in possession.
- And, most importantly, SHOOT MORE! ⚽
One thing I absolutely love about this group is their never-give-up attitude. That mentality will be so important as we take on this new experience together.
🏆 Manager’s Review
Today showed us exactly what the MJPL is about and the level of competition we are going to face. There is plenty for us to work on, but there is also plenty of potential within this group.
Man of the Match: This might sound a little harsh, but today no one really stood out enough to take the award. That’s something we can use as motivation for next week. 💪
Next week we are back at Sutton United to face Sutton United Lions, which will be another big test for the team.
Well done, everyone. 👏🏻
Keep working, keep learning and most importantly, keep believing. 💙⚽
