A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the TEAM today. 👏💙

Today Cropredy played a friendly against PA Eagles, who I found out after the game normally finish in the top 10 of the MJPL, so this was always going to be a really good test for the boys.

Cropredy started the game really well, playing some positive football, moving the ball nicely and creating a couple of chances, but we just couldn’t find the finish.

PA Eagles hit us on the counter-attack with their first real attack and managed to take the lead.

Cropredy responded brilliantly and got straight back into the game. Alek picked up the ball and produced a great assist for Ayo, who beat his defender before keeping his cool to beat the keeper and find the back of the net. ⚽🔥

The boys battled hard, but PA Eagles punished us again with another good attack, before adding a third goal just before half-time.

At 3-1 down, I felt the scoreline was a little harsh on the boys because I thought they had played some really good football. But that’s football!

The second half continued in a similar way. Cropredy kept trying to play positive football and never gave up. We managed to score another three goals, but every time we scored, PA Eagles responded with another goal of their own.

In the end, PA Eagles were just too strong for us and showed the boys exactly what MJPL football is all about.

👊 Review

I hope the boys learnt a lot from today and got a real understanding of the standard and intensity of MJPL football.

When we spoke about the game afterwards, the boys were able to identify where they need to improve both individually and as a team, which is really positive.

There was a lot of good football from Cropredy today, but there are also plenty of areas for us to work on. I know this group will keep improving and getting better at this level. 💪⚽

⭐ MOM – Ayo

Ayo takes Man of the Match after scoring a hat-trick. ⚽⚽⚽

He probably could have had five if it wasn’t for some excellent saves from the PA Eagles keeper.

Ayo worked incredibly hard, using his pace and energy to cause their defence problems throughout the game.

Well done, Ayo! 👏🔥

Lots to learn, lots to improve, but plenty to be proud of.

Keep working, keep learning and keep believing. 💙⚽
