Thank you for the parents and grandparents and players who sacrificed there sunday morning sleep in to attend today’s friendly.
It was a good morning to play football, nice and cool but with the hot weather we have been having the ground was rock solid.
Cropredy started the game well but started to sit deep letting the opposition take control of the midfield and we struggled to get control of the match.
The opposition pressed well and caused us some problems going forward.
We defended well at first but with the press and speed of the opposition they finally got the goal which was deserved.
We created a couple of chances but lacked the cutting edge to finish.
Again the opposition pressed which led to a mistake when we lost the ball and they scored their second.
The second half was much better from us we passed the ball better and started to push forward.
We created lots of chances but couldn’t finish.
We started to win our tackles and pushed more and more forward.
The opposition struggled and started to panic abit and gave a free kick away just outside the box on the right.
Ayo took the free kick and bent it into the top left hand corner.
We kept pressing and started to get more chances,we must of hit the post and crossbar 5 times.
We created a really good chance right at the end but it was comfortably saved by the keeper.
Final score 2-1 loss
MOM:Ayo caused them no end of problems with his pace and determination and deserved his goal.
Review:we need to start more positively and quicker. We need to talk more to each other and play more directly.
We created lots of chances which was good but we need to be more ruthless in front of goal.
The passing was really good at times and movement off the ball was good at times.
On another day we could have won that game 5-2.
